The manufacturer of Apple products such as iPhones, iPads or Macs will no longer sell any of these products in Russia. Apple announced this Tuesday evening. In a statement, the company said it stands by the victims of the violence.

Apple ceases to deliver products to Russian sales channels on Monday, the company reports. Sputnik News and RT News have been removed from Apple's App Store, including outside Russia. Accordingly, Apple Maps has also disabled traffic information and fault reports as a "safety and precautionary measure".

Ukraine's heartfelt pleas to stop selling Apple products in Russia prompted Apple's move. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said the move may help rally the Russian youth against the invasion. Apple has not stopped operating its Russian app store yet, as he called on the company. Apple Stores and App Stores in Russia have long had to be customized to meet Russian requirements.
