In just a few years, Elon Musk will become the world's first trillionaire
Elon Musk could soon possess so much wealth. He would be the first person to surpass this mark. One followed by twelve zeros equals a trillion.
Obtaining a fortune: According to a study, Tesla CEO Elon Musk will become the first billionaire in the history of the world in two years.
Approve.com, a division of software house Tipalti Approve, published a study on Musk on Friday that found his wealth has grown an average of 129 percent over the past six years. Musk is now worth $263 billion.
A trillion is a one followed by twelve zeros. It is hard to imagine how much that is. By comparison: Germany's GDP in 2020 will be 3.8 trillion dollars.
An average company such as Tesla would soon own a quarter of Germany's GDP. GDP is the value of all goods and services produced or sold in a country within a year.
Musk also invests his money in cryptocurrencies. Still, he doesn't have this gigantic sum of money sitting in his account. He holds most of his wealth in Tesla shares.
These are the next generation of trillionaires
The conglomerate Adani Group operates seven listed companies that operate airports, seaports and power plants. In 2025, Gautam Adani could join the billionaires' club. His assets currently total $93 billion.
ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, was ranked third, according to Approve.com. It is currently valued at $59 billion and expected to reach $1 trillion in 2026 with a sustained annual growth rate of 123 percent.
It is likely that Bernard Arnault, who holds most of the shares in luxury goods manufacturer LVMH, will be the first European to reach this level in 2029, since his assets have risen by an average of 27 percent in recent years.
