HTC, the Taiwanese manufacturer of mobile phones, has been relatively silent in recent years. The company announced at MWC 2022 that it would soon introduce a new high-end device.

The HTC smartphone business was very successful at the start of the 2010s; however, the company has only served niche markets recently with its entry-level models.

Asia's Digitimes reports that the smartphone is expected to be announced in April.

In addition to HTC's entry into the Metaverse, the company has also announced the Viverse - based on HTC's virtual reality glasses called Vive. The new top model should then also be focused on VR.
