RT DE was blocked by Telegram. The Russian propaganda channel had previously described the channel as the “last chance for direct information” in the Ukraine crisis.

This was first reported by the online magazine Golem. On Friday afternoon, Telegram blocked the Russian propaganda channel RT DE via its messenger service.

Those with German numbers will no longer be able to open the relevant channel via Telegram.

There will now be a message stating that the channel is not available due to local laws.

Over 111,000 users have accessed the site via the Golem app since the ban on broadcasting by Russian state media has come into effect: 2 percent more users than on Wednesday (as of 12:45 p.m.).

RT and Sputnik are not allowed to broadcast

EU sanctions have been in effect against Russia since Wednesday, including a broadcast ban on the state media RT and Sputnik . The EU announced a corresponding ban over the weekend.
