The TikTok Transparency Center is renewed with greater security and privacy

TikTok has updated its Transparency Center in an effort to further protect the privacy and security of its users. It has released its new transparency report, which covers the period from 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2021.

There have been 2,434 requests in the last 30 days for the removal or restriction of content from governments around the world, alleging violations of community rules.

A great deal more requests, including 78,140 in the reference semester, which, according to the copyright holders, damage the intellectual property. Only a minimal portion of these requests were followed up, 16,662.

We started releasing transparency reports in 2019 and have steadily improved them with the presentation of TikTok's safeguards and integrity protections. These reports reflect the actions TikTok has taken to protect its integrity and safeguard the platform.

Additionally, the report includes information on accounts that may contain child under 13 accounts, as well as advertisements that are contrary to TikTok's standards. Given the platform's popularity, TikTok decided to publish the report.
